Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) Validation - Leading the Way in Climate Action

As part of our progress to improve “Our World”, we are proud to announce that we have set a science-based target, which has been officially validated by the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms our commitment to ambitious climate action aligned with limiting global warming to 1.5°C, in line with the latest climate science.

Near-Term Targets (by 2035)

Energy & Industry

  • 65.0% reduction in absolute scope 1 GHG emissions from our 2024 baseline
  • 67.0% reduction in physical intensity scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and upstream transportation and distribution

Forest, Land & Agriculture (FLAG)

  • 42.5% reduction in absolute scope 3 FLAG GHG emissions from our 2024 baseline **
  • No deforestation across our primary deforestation-linked commodities by 31st January 2028.

This validation process means that our targets are science based and aligned with climate science to limit global warming to 1.5°C; it means that our targets are comprehensive by covering our own direct operations but also those of our entire value chain; and it means we are ambitious in meeting the rigorous standards set by the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard.

These targets reflect our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable food production through leadership and action, with transparency of our reporting and progress.

**The target includes FLAG emissions and removals.
