Emissions

Cutting our emissions is all about doing our bit to tackle climate change – it means making changes to use less energy, create less waste, and lower our carbon footprint. Bottom line: we want to leave the planet in a better state for future generations.

Food Waste

As a member of WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) we have committed to the food waste reduction roadmap and we have set targets to reduce food waste.  As part of that reduction, we also support our communities with food poverty, working with Fare Share, to fight hunger and tackle food waste.

Traceability & Lifecycle

We work on improving how we handle the entire journey of our products and packaging—from the sourcing of materials to the final product. Everything is sourced ethically (i.e., with fairness and responsibility) and we can trace where every ingredient comes from. 

plastic Waste

We are fully committed to reducing plastic waste throughout the supply chain. We were the first spreads manufacturer to use 100% rPET, –  made from 100% recycled materials and 100% recyclable. We are finding better ways of reducing plastic in our secondary packaging and we are eliminating non-recyclable packaging elements

Communities

Community has always been at the heart of our business and in 2018 The Duerr’s Foundation was set up to continue the good charity work by the generations of the Duerrs family.  We donate and support charities within the community and the charities that are close to the hearts and minds of those who work for us.

    From zesty marmalades to fantastically fruity jams, and perfect peanut butters to classy condiments we’ve been making stuff for others for over 60 years, so we can call ourselves the preserve of the preserves.


    Basically, our two factories are dedicated to making things you can spoon, spread, dollop or drizzle. Because soooo many people are mad for peanut butter (and also to make sure the peanuts don’t go walkabout into places they are not welcome), we’ve got a dedicated peanut butter factory.
