Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and something every person should have access to.
In 2020, we launched our You Buy, We Donate campaign to help stop the spread of hunger across the country.
Being a family-run brand, supporting our communities in whatever way we can has always been part of our core business values, and in 2020 we decided to offer our support on a national scale. We teamed up with national charity FareShare to donate our products to vulnerable people in local communities who really need it.
For every jar of our Thick Cut or Fine Cut Marmalade sold, we donated a single serve breakfast portion to FareShare, who then redistributed it between their 24 Regional Centres across the country to make sure it reached the people in local communities who need it most.
We managed to redistribute 524,706 breakfast portions to people in the UK during November 2020 to November 2021 and are pleased to continue providing regular donations of our stock to Fareshare in 2022.
FareShare is the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 17 independent organisations, taking good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and getting it to almost 11,000 frontline charities and community groups.

“FareShare works with hundreds of breakfast clubs, food banks and community centres across the country to get food onto the plates of those who are most vulnerable. With millions of families struggling to eat because of the pandemic, we are very grateful for Duerr’s support and generosity at this critical time.”

“Times are tougher than ever at the moment and no one should have to go hungry. We want to do what we can to help stop the spread of hunger in the UK by working alongside Fareshare and promoting the amazing work that they do. Together we can make a difference.”
