Family run jam & marmalade producers Duerr's are celebrating their 125th birthday this year and so to mark the occasion they questioned 3000 people to find which celebrity we'd most like to preserve for the next 125 years! THE GREAT BRITISH PRESERVE Richard Duerr comments: "Celebrating a 125th birthday gets you thinking about how far you've come and what you've achieved and what the world will look like in another 125 years. We comissioned the survey to celebrate our birthday to discover who the British public would like to preserve."

Children in the North West have been invited to be a part of history! Duerr's have enlisted the help of youngsters in the region by launching a competition which challenges them to design a 125th anniversary label for special edition marmalade. The winning entry will see their design on jars of Duerr's marmalade on supermarket shelves across the country! The winning designer and five of their friends will also win a guided tour of the Duerr's factory to see how the famous marmalade is made. Richard Duerr comments: "To celebrate this very special birthday we wanted to do something a bit different which would engage the people of the North West, where our family business started and has continued to grow in the last 125 years. This competition, we hope, will inspire youngsters to get artistic with the chance of seeing their designs on supermarket shelves across the UK. We are very much looking forward to seeing the entries coming in." Duerr's are continuing the celebrations throughout the rest of 2006 !
