Mincemeat Spiced Apple Crumble Recipe

Easy to make with mum, this spiced Apple Crumble is a twist on the original and you’ll surprise friends and family with the addition of a mincemeat treat!


660g apples, peeled and cut into 1 – 1½cm thick slices

411g Duerr’s Traditional Mincemeat

55g brown sugar (adjust to taste)

32g plain flour

1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

78g oats

75g butter or margarine, softened


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F/190°.
  2. Lightly grease an 8”-9” square baking tin.
  3. Mix the apples with the Duerr’s Traditional Mincemeat and place in the prepared tin.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, flour, cinnamon (if desired) and the oats.
  5. Cut the butter into 2cm squares and rub into the mixture until it goes crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle topping over the apple and Duerr’s mincemeat mixture.
  7. Bake for 35 – 45 minutes, or until apples are tender (check by prodding them through the topping with a fork). If the crumble topping appears to be going too brown, cover with a piece of foil for the remainder of the cooking time.
  8. Serve with cream or ice cream.
