Every baker’s must have – a versatile recipe that can be used for sweet and savoury dishes.
Ingredients:
225g plain flour
Pinch of salt
100g unsalted butter
2 – 3 tbsp cold water to mix
Method:
1.) Make the pastry by rubbing the butter into the flour and salt until it resembles fine breadcrumbs then add the water and bring together to form a dough OR
2.) Make the pastry in a food processor – add the flour, salt and butter to the bowl and process on high for a minute or until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Keeping the motor running, drizzle in the water and process until well mixed. Tip the mixture into a bowl and press lightly together to form a dough.
3.) Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes
