Friday 7th March is National Marmalade Day 2003, and celebrates the 508th anniversary of the arrival of marmalade in Great Britain in 1495.
F.Duerr and Sons Ltd, the UK’s oldest remaining family owned preserves manufacturer has been producing jams and marmalade in Manchester since 1881. As founders of National Marmalade Day over eight years ago, Duerr’s have raised £23,000 during the past year for their chosen charity, Francis House, the children’s hospice in Manchester.
The cheque will be officially presented to Francis House by Mark Duerr, managing director of F. Duerr & Sons to commemorate Marmalade Day.
The range comes in all the family favourites: Fine Cut, Thick Cut, and Shredless Seville Orange, Fine Cut Grapefruit, and Fine Cut Half Sugar Seville Orange as well as the over 100 year old recipe for the 1881 range for the discerning Marmalade Connoisseur.
