The World’s First Municipal Park

Proud to Be British

Britain, and more specifically Birkenhead, was the location of the very first municipal park opened April 5th 1847.┬áThe park in Merseyside was designed by Sir Joseph Paxton and is said to be the inspiration for many features of New York’s Central Park.
