This week we took to Facebook and Twitter to ask you your creative ideas for up cycling your empty jam jars! Here was our attempt:

Danielle Mutsaers turned hers into a lovely mini garden! (Perfect for those who don’t have their own!)

Other quirky ideas you had included:

• Putting a raw garlic clove inside an empty jam jar and shaking it to peel it.
• Re-using the jam jars for your own homemade batch!
• Storing loose change.
• Decorating them and using them as candle holders.
• Re-using them for homemade pasta sauces.
• Turning one into a pencil jar for the desk!
• Using them to store sweets.
• Making homemade chocolates and storing them inside to give as gifts.

In 2011, DC Cupcakes broke the world record for the world’s largest cupcake! This delightful treat weighed 1,176.6kg, stretched 56 inches in diameter and 36 inches tall. They even had to have an oven and pan custom made to accommodate it.

So last week we asked you which you preferred – shredded or shredless marmalade! Well the results are in and shredded marmalade has come out top!

We hope all mum’s are being treated this morning to a tasty breakfast in bed this Mother’s Day! There is nothing better than waking up to delicious marmalade on toast – especially when you didn’t have to prepare it eh mums?!
