Job Title: NPD Technician

Reporting to: NPD Manager

Shift Pattern: Nights 39 hours per week, Mon-Thurs 08-17 & Fri 08-16

Job Purpose:

To make kitchen samples across all product types for presentation internally or for customer submissions. Organisation of raw materials, packaging and samples. Support the team with trials, paperwork and preparation for customer visits.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Make kitchen samples from recipes provided, then working towards being able to write own recipes.
  2. Samples produced are labelled accurately and supporting information accompanies samples when sent customer.
  3. Collecting samples, packaging & raw materials. Ordering samples when required from suppliers.
  4. Carries out all necessary parameter checks on all samples produced from kitchen or factory, and accurately records the information.
  5. Support development team during trials, tasks include collecting samples, taking product measurements like temperatures and viscosity measurements.
  6. Carry out benchmarking and taste panels, writing up reports and sharing.
  7. Support the team to create QAS documents for new products and amendments to existing products.
  8. Assisting with the completion of NPD documentation.
  9. Carries out shelf-life testing with support and guidance.
  10. Maintain excellent organisation of kitchen and storage areas.
  11. Keep up to date with food trends.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience in the food industry from a range of backgrounds, including factory or restaurant, QA, factory technician or NPD
  • Alternatively, food related degree or education (including a science relation discipline) to A level or equivalent
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • IT skills, preferably excel
  • Can do attitude
  • Passionate about food
  • The potential for training to be a junior development technologist

We are hiring – QA Technician

Job Title: QA Technician

Reporting to: QA Supervisor

Shift Pattern: Nights Monday to Friday 12 hour shifts including days and nights

Job Purpose:

Quality assurance (QA) technicians ensure company and customer quality standards are being met. They work under the supervision of the QA supervisor, where they conduct quality tests, perform inspection checks, calibrate equipment, and communicate test results. They examine raw materials for purity and make sure that manufacturing results meet internal standards for production. The QA Technician also monitors the production-line cycle and shares findings with relevant superiors. The main task of the QA Technician is to prevent errors from occurring within the manufacturing process.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintaining and calibrating measuring equipment to various testing standards.
  2. Alerting the QA Supervisor of ongoing problems.
  3. Inspecting raw materials to ensure consistence and integrity.
  4. To ensure the filling out and maintaining of any paperwork required.
  5. Complying with any and all standards, internal policies and legal regulations that apply to the finished product.
  6. To ensure good hygiene and housekeeping standards are employed at all times.
  7. To perform accurate analysis of the product, process and packaging to determine its suitability for purpose.
  8. To work with all team members to use their skills and knowledge to identify problems and implement opportunities.
  9. Being aware of the individual product requirements and demonstrate the ability to identify problems.

We are hiring – Production Operative (Nights)

Job Title: Production Operative

Reporting to: Production Supervisor

Shift Pattern: Nights Monday to Friday 22:00pm – 06:00am

£10 per hour

£15.94 shift pay per shift worked

Job Purpose:

As a Production Operative, you will be responsible for the efficient running of the production lines and ensuring that production plans and targets are met. You will display initiative, reliability, commitment and self- motivation whilst working on the lines, taking ownership of our products and delivering the best quality to all our customers, working in accordance with a ‘right first time’ operating system.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. To ensure the correct raw materials and packaging are available at the work site prior to start of production.
  2. To start up, run and shut down designated plant to set procedures.
  3. To follow the daily production plan or department schedule ensuring due care and attention is made with the identification of variety and product types.
  4. To ensure the correct quality of product is produced / packed with regard to quality assurance systems and procedures.
  5. To report errors and or non-conformance to specification of product in an efficient and timely manner.
  6. To be compliant in the use of moving / non-moving mechanical machinery.
  7. To be competent with the use of pallet and / or fork lift trucks as required by the department you are based.
  8. To ensure the materials and product are handled in a hygienic environment, safely and to specification in compliance with Food Legislation and site codes of practice.
  9. To ensure good hygiene and housekeeping standards are employed at all times.  Ensure clean as you go and routine cleans are carried out as instructed.
  10. To ensure that plant and equipment is operated with due care and attention.  Ensure any malfunctions are reported appropriately.
  11. To cooperate in the mechanics of a continuous improvement environment.
  12. To fully understand the Health & Safety rules and regulations of the Company and that of the Health & Safety Act.

We are hiring – Hygiene Operative

Job Title: Hygiene Operative

Reporting to: Hygiene Supervisor

Shift Pattern: 42 hours per week, 4 on 4 off (2x day shift 7am-7pm, 2x night shifts 7pm-7am followed by 4 days off)

Job Purpose:

An integral role within the hygiene team ensuring the necessary hygiene standard is being met, in particular those concerning Health & Safety Quality and Economy are compiled with. Following a daily hygiene schedule and ensuring cleaning materials are used in accordance with procedure.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To maintain an effective factory hygiene service to the business
  2. Efficiently follow the daily hygiene schedule
  3. To ensure cleaning materials are accurately stored and maintained in accordance to current legislation and COSHH requirements
  4. To ensure at all times the appropriate materials and equipment are used and in fit purpose
  5. To use cleaning equipment in accordance to internal and external guidelines
  6. Report any apparent malfunctions or misuse of cleaning equipment to the supervisor
  7. Completion of hygiene records
